Thanks to Our Donors

Since 1956, over $3 million in scholarships has been awarded to more than 3000 recipients through the Lakes Region Scholarship Foundation, thanks to the generosity of over 400 local donors, some of whom have supported the Foundation for over 50 years.

In 2008, $184,505 was awarded to 297 students.  Approximately 40 percent of the scholarships were generated from earnings on endowment funds established from memorial offerings, specific bequests or special one-time donations. The remaining scholarships were raised through annual appeals. Local civic, community, school, theatrical and church organizations, as well as many individuals and businesses, generously responded. We recognize and applaud their generosity and dedication in helping Lakes Region students continue their education and fulfill their career goals. The donors deserve the credit for really making it happen!
